Job Description
Nurses provide care for acutely ill individuals and practice within settings where patients require complex assessments, high-intensity therapies and interventions, as well as continuous nursing vigilance. American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), states that this specialty within nursing deals specifically with human responses to life-threatening problems and the nurses rely on a specialized body of knowledge, experience and skills to provide the care that is needed for these patients and families.
Must have a minimum of 2 years of current critical care experience and uphold the mandatory BCLS and ACLS certifications. Preferred certification consists of a critical care course.
